my first postpartum run

Today I ran 1.15 miles in 13 minutes. There was some walking involved. It took me longer to get dressed and get out the door than it did to run, especially since Ulla decided she couldn't bear to be left at home. Two blankets and two warmed rice socks later, we were out the door. Oh, and the dog came. No rest for the wicked. (Even when we're going running to get a break from a toddler and a newborn.) I couldn't have imagined running at this stage postpartum after Ulla. I don't even think I thought about exercise for months. But I'm happy to be back out there. It felt like I thought it would, a little awkward and clumsy, but easier than running with a big belly. Onward. PS- Happy Valentine's Day!
