a big problem

ouch

This is what's happening every time I run: two extremely painful chafe marks underneath my sports bra. Notice that these marks are actually below where my sports bra lies, meaning my bra (and boobs) must be moving that much when I'm running.

The bra I'm wearing is Moving Comfort's Juno bra and it's been my go-to bra for my last three purchases. Usually this type of chafing signals that it's time for a new one but I just bought this one.

I've tried body glide, tightening the straps, loosening the straps, and finally resorted today to turning it inside out, which is a trick I read on Sarah OUaL's blog. Clearly it didn't help.

I'm at a loss. Girls with girls, what bra do you run in? Has this ever happened to you?

ETA: If you're seeing this post twice, it's because I changed the title of it. I was getting a lot of traffic from Russian porn sites (true story) and it seems like this was a popular post. Sorry to disappoint, no porn here.

  1. Oh my goodness. If you find something that works, let me know. I'm having horrible chafing problems lately (though Body Glide has been helping me).

    1. Sounds like we might have to look at the Enell.... The Vaseline suggestion is a good one, too!

  2. I don't personally have that problem, but I have heard that the Enell sports bra does the job, despite not being the prettiest (or cheapest): http://iwannagetphysical.blogspot.com/2010/02/friday-funny-74-does-it-work-enell.html

  3. Enell Sports Bras - made in Havre, Montana and Oprah loves them. Expensive but trust me as an endowed/cursed woman those melons cannot move when I have that bra on. Love it. http://www.kxlh.com/news/mt-retailer-sings-praises-of-havre-based-sports-bras/

    1. Thanks! I hadn't heard of this one, but if it works for Oprah, it'll work for me! Heading to their website after this.

  4. I have that same issue. I have three different styles of Moving Comfort bras and it happens with all of them. I've tried body glide and that didn't work. My fix for now is lots of Vaseline or petroleum jelly. If I am driving to a run I put it on before I leave the house and then again before the run starts. This past weekend I carried a little bottle with me on the run and reapplied. It has kept me chafe free so far. I did have a little chafe after my 18 miles on Saturday but other than that it's been great. I have chafing so bad I get marks on my back too. It's kind of a relief to see that others are getting it too, I thought it was just me.

    1. Thanks so much for the advice! I was thinking that Body Glide felt too thin to put a barrier where I was already chafing so I'll definitely try the Vaseline route.
