fun things

Forget last Thursday night’s storms. Friday night (pictures here) was one for the books, knocking out my (and about 250,000 other people’s) power for four days. It finally came back on for me late Monday night.

It was a little warm without fans, and rather inconvenient to not have a fridge, but I still had water and could use my stove. I also took it as an opportunity to deep clean my fridge, which is now sparkling. If it wasn’t for charging my cell phone and Garmin, not having power wasn’t really that terrible. Silver lining.

I’m still getting back into the swing of things with running and yoga after getting back from Germany, but feel really good overall. I continue to nail supported headstand and am trying to work up the courage to go back to yoga sculpt, which nearly killed me last time. I'm also back to running actual workouts (intervals, hills, etc.) instead of just building mileage.

But it's not all health and fitness around here. On Tuesday night I took my little sister Amy to see Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros at the Cabooze. It was her first "real" concert (though still minor appropriate). It was a perfect night weather-wise and we had a great time. Some pictures:

Here's to summer!
